Hey Reader! Iām a homebody and an introvert. Iāve also gotten quite good at scheduling work into my calendar and avoiding procrastination. All of this means that I donāt prioritize socializing and going out and doing stuff as much as I should. But Iām happy to report that this weekend was different!
By the end of it all, my socialization cup felt very full. Looking back, I counteracted my āhomebody tendenciesā in two ways āļø
Put in the werkThis is where my productivity systems come in. Towards the beginning of the month, the idea of a Galentineās dinner popped into my head, so I jotted it down in my brain dump. That Sunday, when I did my weekly planning, I texted two friends that Iād been wanting to catch up with and got the ball rolling. I added a few things to my to do list: Pick a recipe, add the ingredients to my shopping list, buy groceries, cook dinner. Someoneās gotta step up to the plate to organize, and I decided I would do it that week. Ideally, your friends will also take turns initiating, and thatās where the second strategy comes in⦠Just say yesA few weeks back, I was in class designing a poster for a charity race event. My friend said āoh, Iām going to that! You should join.ā I havenāt run in months, but I figured a 6.5K couldnāt be that bad. I registered before I could reconsider. She also told me her family was visiting that weekend and invited me over for dinner. Why not? Similarly, I was planning on going to this concert to see my friends perform. But I haven't done photography in a while, so I decided I'd scratch my creative itch, bring a camera, and offer up my free photography services š ⨠Inevitably, I regret these plans. Itās usually when Iām about to leave the safe comfort of my house. As I lugged my camera bag to the venue, I was thinking āMan, I have so much work I could be doing at home.ā As I searched for my race bib at 7:30AM on a Sunday, I was gazing longingly at my warm bed. But at some point, I will get over that hump of regret and realize that it was exactly what I needed. I left each of these each weekend activities with a big smile on my face, walking through Madrid like I was in some cheesy movie. You might have seen me posting about how much I miss living in Segovia, but this weekend I felt something shift. I appreciated Madrid for everything new that it has brought me. I felt like I owed the city an apology. āLook, it took me almost five months, but youāre growing on me now.ā I wasnāt able to do all of the work I had planned for this weekend, and Iām a bit stressed about this upcoming week. But honestly, my best memories from university so far are from times exactly like this - fast-paced, social, and joyful. āļø This week's videoIn this week's video, I shared all of my tips & tricks for making your Apple Watch be a productive tool, including my favorite apps (P.S. this is the Watch band I have!) >> Click here to watch!ā āļø Advice from the communityI asked you to share your best Apple Watch/smartwatch tips, and here's what you had to say!
A few of my favorite thingsš§ Replaying this album when Iām walking, cooking, stretching before bed... all the time. š©āš¼ Iāve got two interviews for internships coming up (wish me luck š¤) so Iāve been preparing by watching a bunch of YouTube videos. This one with 20 question & answer examples was really helpful. š½ļø While doing this I stumbled upon what I think might be my new favorite productivity YouTube channel (good advice + top-notch production quality). ā An exercise for youThis week, apply one of my two techniques:

Hey Reader! I am a notoriously deep sleeper. I once slept through a carbon monoxide alarm that woke up the rest of my family š“ (Donāt worry, I think it was just a particularly loud low battery warning. We were safe!) I am also a morning person. These two traits donāt work together very well. After I got back from Winter Break, I realized that I had been slipping further and further away from my early morning self. I needed my long, quiet mornings back. Itās a precious block of solitude before...
Bonjour, Reader! Last week I returned from a lovely trip to Lyon, France to visit my boyfriendās family. In my camera roll, you can spot some really cool moments from this trip. Lying on the floor of the Palais de la Bourse, watching a light show projected onto the ceiling to the tune of Vivaldiās Four Seasons. Browsing the Les Halles de Lyon ā Paul Bocuse, an indoor food market with rows and rows of cheeses, pĆ¢tĆ©s, and colorful macarons. Climbing down the steps of a Roman amphitheater....
